Matchabar.
Overview
Matchabar is a family-run company from New York committed to “bringing matcha to the people”. In the summer of 2019, they were growing out of their brick and mortar cafes and started focusing more on expanding their consumer packaged goods (CPG). Matchabar distributes their bottled matcha in Whole Foods and other speciality stores nationwide, as well as in smaller New York bodegas.
As their marketing and design intern, I was tasked with creating digital content that would capture the attention of "digital natives” who use social media and online platforms as their primary source of information, reviews, and advice on what consumer products to buy.

Matchabar’s Amazon Summer Campaign
The Amazon summer campaign was Matchabar’s biggest deal with an external distribution platform. I worked 1:1 with the senior marketing manager to produce the campaign. I recruited the models and scouted the locations to match the voice of the brand. I also led the growth marketing content, shooting all the behind-the-scenes material. This experience taught me a lot about producing a campaign and how to wear “many hats”, especially when working in a small team (of two!).
Max In The Kitchen Series
My main focus for the summer was to strategize and create engaging content that will entice viewers to buy Matchabar’s drinks and matcha powder. I worked with the marketing director to take this idea from paper to reality. We sketched out the steps and did a light frame by frame of each “episode” of Max In The Kitchen. After shooting all the content, I did the entire post-production of the videos from editing, sound adjustment, color correcting, to creating the graphics.
Intern Report
The intern report was the final culmination of my experience at Matchabar that I was able to hand to the team and Co-Founders of Matchabar. I learned many skills during this internship, including growth marketing strategies via social media, video editing with adobe premiere, and taking media from ideation to realization.
